When I Could Not Walk, They Walked With Me

As I sit here tonight, reflecting back on my healing journey this year, I feel happy and grateful to be where I am today. Two surgeries and two recoveries. I am so happy to be on the other side of double knee replacements.

The first surgery was in March, and the second in July. I have made an amazing recovery. When I went in for my six-week checkup, the surgeon was amazed at how well my leg had recovered. Then, three months later, back to the hospital I went for my second knee replacement. It was a journey that at times was painful, challenging, and wonderful. The human body is capable of so much — if you work hard each day, you can build your strength back.

I credit my success on this journey to the love and support I received from Mother Mary, Mary Magdalene, Jesus, and the Sisters of the Rose, the Sisters of the Dove, and the Sisters of the Light — they who walked with me when I was able and stood by my side and held my hand when I was unable to walk.

I remember sitting in the little room in the office, waiting on my surgeon. We were going to discuss my total knee replacement. I remember feeling scared and alone. I silently called out to Mother Mary, Mary Magdalene, and Jesus — and I wasn't alone anymore. I felt a feeling of love and calm settle down into my body. I felt their hands on my shoulders as the doctor came in, and we made plans for surgery the following Tuesday. I was able to speak calmly, ask questions, and discuss my recovery and pain management. They held me and gave me strength, sharing their golden energy with me daily, sharing their love with me.

If you are walking through your own season of healing, I would love to hear what is carrying you. You are welcome to share below — or simply sit with this tonight.
